Who is a candidate?
Children and adults with severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss who receive limited benefit from hearing aids. Candidacy is confirmed through detailed audiological, medical and radiological evaluation.
The journey
- Assessment & counselling — hearing tests, imaging, family counselling and realistic expectation-setting.
- Surgery — a routine 2–3 hour procedure performed by an ENT surgeon.
- Activation — 2–4 weeks later, the audiologist switches on and 'maps' the device.
- Rehabilitation — the most important phase: months of auditory-verbal therapy teach the brain to interpret the new signals.
Government support
Government schemes (including ADIP and state programs) support cochlear implantation for eligible children in India. Our team helps families understand eligibility and navigate the process.
